warded on numerous occasions — Elle Decoration International Design Award 2006, Wallpaper Design Awards (Bookcase category) 2006, Design Week Awards (Furniture Design category) 2006, as well as a nomination for the ADI Design Index 2006 — the Random bookcase, complete with back panel, was designed in 2006 by Studio Neuland Industriedesign for the Milan-based company MDF Italia.

This bookcase is part of the renowned Random collection, a series of modular units that can be optimally combined to create a harmonious, aesthetic, and elegant composition, perfectly suited to both home interiors and office spaces.

Made of medium-density lacquered wood fibre, 6 mm thick, the Random shelves feature a 10 mm thick melamine back panel (unlike the Random 08 model).

The compartments are designed in standard dimensions to accommodate binders, books, CDs, and other media. Adjustable feet allow the Random bookcase to adapt to floor irregularities, ensuring perfect stability.
