Lean Back is an elegant, reclining lounge chair in 50s design, created by the renowned Danish furniture designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen. Despite the lightness and an almost floating expression, the lounge chair is incredibly comfortable to sit in and invites you to long stays with conversations around the coffee table or immersion in the world of books and magazines. The solid wood armrest is so elegantly designed that it almost looks like leather with its soft sway. As a special quality in the design, the Lean Back lounge chair is beautiful from all angles, so it can stand freely in the room. The lounge chair is available with leather cushions for a completely classic look or upholstered cushions in canvas or velor for a more daring look.

Choose between exclusive furniture fabrics, velor or canvas from, among others, Kvadrat in carefully selected colors from the Warm Nordic universe or leather of the highest quality. The frame of the Lean Back chair is available in exclusive types of wood.

Hans Olsen

Born in 1919 in Denmark, Hans Olsen (1919-1992) was a Danish furniture designer who created numerous pieces in his own distinctive style. He pursued his studies at the Royal Danish Academy under the direction of the famous designer Kaare Klint from 1941 to 1943. He opened his own studio in 1953 and began to exhibit his works at the Cabinetmakers Guild in Copenhagen.

Olsen's work is characteristic of mid-20th century design, presenting plunging organic curves and the fusion of multiple materials in one piece. The designer was known for his innovative utilization of wood lamellé plié, as evidenced by his emblematic Bikini Chair. Created for the first time in 1960 for Frem Røjle, a furniture manufacturing company, this aura led to the many collaborations for several pieces, now famous.

Another must-have piece of the creator is the Fried Egg Chair. This chaise longue is unique in its genre.
