Now the characteristic Gesture design from the 50s is also available as a sculptural lounge chair. The popular Danish architect Hans Olsen, who created both a dining table chair and a lounge chair based on the same basic principle, is behind the popular form-stressed design. With its welcoming design and light, playful expression, the Gesture Lounge Chair is as aesthetically pleasing as it is a comfortable addition to the living room. The armrests invite you to sit down and find peace in the form-fitting design, where padding on both the back and seat ensures optimal comfort. The lounge chair is a complete design piece of furniture, which is complemented by classic woods and color tones.

Hans Olsen

Born in 1919 in Denmark, Hans Olsen (1919-1992) was a Danish furniture designer who created numerous pieces in his own distinctive style. He pursued his studies at the Royal Danish Academy under the direction of the famous designer Kaare Klint from 1941 to 1943. He opened his own studio in 1953 and began to exhibit his works at the Cabinetmakers Guild in Copenhagen.

Olsen's work is characteristic of mid-20th century design, presenting plunging organic curves and the fusion of multiple materials in one piece. The designer was known for his innovative utilization of wood lamellé plié, as evidenced by his emblematic Bikini Chair. Created for the first time in 1960 for Frem Røjle, a furniture manufacturing company, this aura led to the many collaborations for several pieces, now famous.

Another must-have piece of the creator is the Fried Egg Chair. This chaise longue is unique in its genre.
