Unique asymmetrical armchair, designed by the renowned Danish architect Hans Olsen. Fried Egg has its roots in the Danish modernism of the 50s and caters to design lovers who want to add edge to the home in the form of extraordinary design furniture with both personality and whimsy. Due to Fried Egg's characteristic shape, the spacious as well as graceful chair has been nicknamed the Mirror Bed, because this is exactly what the chair reminds of when the design is viewed from above. The flat armrest invites you to casually swing your legs up on the edge if you really want to relax. For the greatest possible flexibility in the interior, Fried Egg is available both right- and left-facing, depending on where you want it to fall on the armchair. At the same time, it opens up for furnishing a lounge corner with two armchairs that relate symmetrically and mirror each other and invite long conversations. As a tribute to the Nordic woods, Fried Egg is now produced in smoked and oiled oak with upholstery in exclusive leather and a number of selected textiles from the Warm Nordic universe.

Hans Olsen

Born in 1919 in Denmark, Hans Olsen (1919-1992) was a Danish furniture designer who created numerous pieces in his own distinctive style. He pursued his studies at the Royal Danish Academy under the direction of the famous designer Kaare Klint from 1941 to 1943. He opened his own studio in 1953 and began to exhibit his works at the Cabinetmakers Guild in Copenhagen.

Olsen's work is characteristic of mid-20th century design, presenting plunging organic curves and the fusion of multiple materials in one piece. The designer was known for his innovative utilization of wood lamellé plié, as evidenced by his emblematic Bikini Chair. Created for the first time in 1960 for Frem Røjle, a furniture manufacturing company, this aura led to the many collaborations for several pieces, now famous.

Another must-have piece of the creator is the Fried Egg Chair. This chaise longue is unique in its genre.
