Frédéric Saulou

Born in 1989, Frédéric Saulou studied at first interior design and environment design at superior institut of applied art from 2007 to 2011. Graduated with honors jury, he continued to arouse his curiosity about design by integrating Design department School of Fine Arts and got the Higher National Diploma of Plastic Art Expression master’s degree in 2013. To perfect his experience, he worked during several months at EGa Eric Gizard interior design studio and close to the designer Frédéric Ruyant.

Currently independent Frédéric Saulou develop projects both in design, in architecture and scenography. Experimentation and research outweigh my work to think of new materials and new uses. I develop a sensitive and poetic approach to forms and materials through movement, touch http://www.fredericsaulou.com/and relationship to the object. This accompanies my daily approach to each project is thought as a wholly sculpture between simplicity and technicality. My approach guides me towards a global approach but also unique in my designing creating specific interactions between the user and the object, between Craft and industrial know-how. Currently Frédéric develops an independent and autonome work, and develops different kind of projects in plastic and product design, scenography and interior design. He realized a first residency during 6 months in Angers in 2015, where he established researches and developed a social and cultural project around the mineral local material and the raising of local know how. Besides Frédéric worked for the palace hotel Le Molitor on Fève-jewelry conception, on a coffee cup set with the Limoges porcelain manufactory or for furniture and object editor like Ligne Roset, Drugeot Labo, Brossier Saderne etc. Early in 2016, he won the artist residency «Suddenly Made» between Paris and Brussels where he developed a limited mirror edition between art, craft and design. Following that, he won the IDPool Program during 2 months in Portugal in the famous porcelain and crystal manufactory Vista Alegre. Since he goes on with among other his collaborations with different art galleries on the slate work, development of new products for different Brand and private interior design projects.
