Anna Von Schewen

Anna von Schewen graduated in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design in 1995 after studying at the Art College and the Helsinki University of Art and Design.
In 1997 she started the design studio Anna von Schewen Design and Architecture in Stockholm. The assignments include architecture, interior design and exhibition architecture as well as furniture and product design. She collaborates with several well-known Swedish producers such as Articles, Gärsnäs, Lammhults, Skruf, String and Svenskt Tenn.
In 2014, Anna vn Schewen took another step as a furniture designer with international collaborations with Italian producers De Padova and Zanotta. Since then she has presented several pieces of furniture on the international design scene in collaboration with Arflex Japan and in recent years with Ditre Italia and Articles.
She has designed the scenography for several major exhibitions at, among others, the National Museum and ArkDes as well as walking exhibitions which are exhibited at, for example, the Center Culturel Suedois in Paris and the Bard Graduate Center in New York. She has also designed ArkDe's permanent exhibition "Architecture in Sweden" in collaboration with industrial designer Björn Dahlstöm. Anna von Schewen has designed the interior for the National Librarian's study at the Royal Library in Stockholm. The project also included designing furniture that she designed specifically for the room.
She also develops her own projects of a more experimental nature with a focus on construction, materials and form. Twice she has been awarded the Artistic Committee's project scholarship for development work, according to the committee "artistic and cultural policy special interesting projects".
Anna von Schewen has worked regularly with lectures and as a visiting teacher and critic at Konstfack, Beckmans and Malmsten's school. She has also been a member of the board of the Stockholm Architects Association.
Her design has been awarded a number of awards. Excellent Swedish Forms Special Award and Design Award, Bruno Mathsson Prize, Furniture of the Year by the magazine Sköna Hem, Designer of the Year by the magazine Residence, German Design Award and nominated for the Wood Prize and EDIDA Design Award by Swedish Elle Decoration.
Several museums such as the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam, the National Museum in Oslo, the National Museum in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, Anna von Schevens's design is represented.
During Stockholm Design Week 2020, Anna von Scheevers designs at String, Atricles and Bsweden.
