Asko

Asko was founded in 1918 by cabinetmaker Aukusti Asko-Avonius as was the Lahti Joinery Factory, to mass-produce furniture items. Asko, working with a Finnish production and Design Company, also worked with the best-known Finnish designers in the mid-twentieth century, including Ilmari Tapiovaara, Tapio Wirkkala, and Eero Aarnio. Eero Aarnio created the world's first fiberglass furniture, the Bubble chair, in 1968. Asko was bought in 1999 and is now known as The Indoor Group Ltd. Asko focused on functional, well-designed furniture using high quality  used materials. The different designer collections are divided into product groups, such as office and home furniture and decoration such as  textiles. Asko-designed products are based on a functional approach for a broader public and target a wide public.
