Sweden (1885-1971)

Louise Nathalia Adelborg is the one who has managed to create china tableware found in every Swedish home : plates, pots, jugs, cups, all the items with her signature became Swedish icons. At the age of 31, then a professor of art at the School of Art, Craft and Design in Stockholm, she began working as a designer for Rörstand and specialized in the manufacture of tableware. Her set Swedish Grace becomes legendary  at 1930 Stockholm exhibition: her sensitivity, her delicate and restrained expression are the keys to the success of this set.

Adelborg Louise graduated from technical school in Stockholm and has specialized in the design and textiles. She became a designer at Rörstand between 1916 and 1957 but continues to design textile work, embroidery being her favorite activity, including religious works. Louise Adelborg participated in neoclassical stream called Swedish Grace, created in 1930 in the Scandinavian countries, a legacy of romanticism associated with the inspiring nature close to sober Bauhaus and structured lines.
