Åke Holm

Sweden (1900-1980)


Ceramist and sculptor. Born in the town of Höganäs, most of his family members over the age of 13 worked at Höganäs Ceramic. 1928 he starts his own workshop in Höganäs. Did a line of biblical terracotta figures in the 1930s. During the 40s he starts making primitve, figural sculptures. 1946 Prince Wilhelm makes a movie about Åke Holm. Höganäs museum has a permanent exhibition of his work.
